The 7 deadly sins of love – Part 5; Lust!

Lust is an emotion or feeling of intense desire in the body. When love on the other hand is considered to be such a pure and tender emotion how is it that we so often get them confused?
Which leads me to the old “friends with benefits” debate. This arrangement rarely works out. Most women are somewhat incapable of separating emotions from any kind of physical contact whereas men are quite adept at it. It’s just how we’re made! The only person that usually avails of any type of benefit here is the horny male enjoying copious amounts of “no strings sex” with the naiive female who believes that if he spends enough time with her he will fall hopelessly in love with her even though he insisted from day one that he was not looking for a relationship. He may enjoy your company, there may be post-coital pillow talk, he may text you regularly and sometimes do nice things for you. But please don’t confuse this for love or anything even close to it! His motives are driven by lust! You yourself may have entered into this arrangement with the intention of keeping it casual but you are only fooling yourself if you think that this won’t end in tears – yours by the way! If we’re honest, most of us will have fallen into this trap at least once in our lifetime but like everything else you live and learn! A casual arrangement will almost never turn into something serious so if you are looking for a relationship don’t agree to be someone’s “friend” in the foolish hope that you will become more than that. Have you ever heard the saying why buy the cow when you can have the milk for free? So if you give him the milk he aint gonna buy the cow honey!
The 2011 movie “Friends with Benefits” is FICTIONAL! So please don’t dismiss my advice based on the unrealistic outcome of this! I haven’t actually watched it – just reading the plot was enough to deter me – Guy and girl are friends, they decide to have a bit of no strings attached, develop feelings for each other and amidst a few clichéd twists and turns admit their feelings for one another and decide to embark on a romance! And let’s face it – it wouldn’t be hard to get a guy to commit to you if you looked like Mila Kunis either would it! I repeat – FICTIONAL!!!!

So trust me when I say; Lust has no lasting effect and should not be confused with love!
Tune in next week for the penultimate deadly sin, envy!
