In the words of the magazine them self:

“New bands, cult heroes and rock legends will be out in force for our annual knees-up”

Our favourite indie-rock chick Florence Welch (Florence and the Machine) won big last night taking home the awards for Best Solo Artist ( beating out other esteemed artists like Noel Gallagher and Jake Bugg.

NME Awards

That was not where the bad luck ended for this floppy haired messer as his band One Direction scored the not-so-fabulous Worst Band award. Yikes. Ah well all in the name of a bit of fun and judging by the other nominees in this category (Muse, Mumford & Sons, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran) somehow I doubt the boys will be boo-hooing into their pillows for much time at all!
